Kara Weller ’02 (BA) ’06 (MA) will also discuss personal hurdles that get in the way of asking for money and how to overcome them! In addition, Kara will teach you how to conduct salary research and how salaries are structured for your industry. This information will inform when and why to ask for more money - and how much. It will also help you understand non-monetary benefits and how to put a value on those benefits, personally. Come away from this one hour webinar and feel empowered in your own career management and your ability to identify if you are being compensated fairly and what to do if you are not.

Presenter’s Bio:
Kara Weller ’02 (BA) ’06 (MA) brings 10 years of experience in higher education career, human capital management and marketing to her role as Manager of MBA Career Development at USD. Kara has presented at domestic and international conferences and contributed to publications on such topics as distance counseling and technology innovation in career services. Since 2006, Kara worked with Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business, specializing in strategic planning, MBA career management and corporate relations and then with the University of Arizona managing employer development for 350 graduate and undergraduate programs. Prior, she worked in Student Affairs at the University of San Diego where she also earned her master’s degree in Career Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Kara holds leadership roles with both the national and regional Association of Colleges and Employers; providing expertise on the national ethics committee and is director of membership and talent development.
