The Comité México was founded in 2009 by a group of Mexican Alumni, Parents and Friends. When established, the Comité México had two main objectives:
- To foster a bond and a relationship between the University of San Diego and its Mexican constituents, by conducting outreach efforts with the Mexican community throughout Mexico, the greater San Diego and Southern California region.
- The Comité México committed to raising a minimum of $50,000 to endow a scholarship in support of Mexican and Mexican-American students. The minimum goal of $50,000 was achieved in 2015. As such, the Comité México has permanently established a Mexican legacy of philanthropy at the University of San Diego.
Students of Mexican descent have been a part of every generation at the University of San Diego. By supporting the Comité México Scholarship, donors will help us ensure that future generations of Mexican and Mexican-American students will continue to receive a fine education at the University of San Diego. Please give to the Comité México Scholarship Fund.

Claudia Dominguez '17
Upon graduation, Claudia wishes to become licensed as an LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) and work with young adults suffering from severe mental illnesses. After working for a couple of years, she plans on returning to school to work earn her Ph.D. in the field of Depth Psychology. Her long term goal is to one day own her very own private practice.
Claudia says, "Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. Your generous contribution to this scholarship has impacted me in so many ways, I don’t even know where to begin. It has motivated me to work twice as hard, inspired me to be even more proud of where I come from, and driven me to believe that anything is possible. As long as I keep doing what I was put on earth to do, everything will work out one way or another. There are so many individuals out there thinking they can’t go to school because they can’t afford it, they’ll run out of money, it’s not for them, the list goes on… I hope they come across this and it inspires them to know that they are not alone, that wonderful people such as yourselves, are out there and willing to offer a helping hand. Your acts of kindness will never be forgotten and always appreciated. Thank you."
